Leverkusen’s chief spoke to reporters at his pre -season training camp in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
“No one can prevent players from leaving the upper level,” explained.
“This is just the way it is. But it is better if four or five players do not leave in a transfer window, as the process will continue to work much more difficult.
“We all face one challenge. The team. The coaching staff. All the people involved are right on the board. We have to build a new course.

“We know that it will take time to build a completely new team. We will work on it. Early containers are visible. We have to build them now. There are still many weaknesses.
“Four to five players still need to be added to reach our goal of ending in the top four teams. The transfer window is still open for another month and many things can happen.”
