Tottenham insider Brian King has suggested Ivan Toney would “no doubt” want to be reunited with Thomas Frank at the club, but sources elsewhere are reporting.
There has been a lot of speculation about Tony’s future for the duration of his mandatory stay in Saudi Arabia. Before moving to Al-Halli in 2024, he was wanted by some of the Premier League’s big hitters.
He has since scored 39 goals and it has been suggested he could return to England.
A few parties have been mentioned as interested Tonybut Tottenham Tony is the main link given his contact with Frank, who successfully managed him at Brentford.
Toni has now scored 72 goals in 141 games under the Spurs boss – the most anyone has scored in one of his sides, and 100 games short of second-placed Brian Mbemo on the list.
Former Spurs scout King thinks Tony would jump at the chance to reunite with Frank.
He told Tottenham News: “No doubt (Tony would be interested in a Spurs move.)
“The one thing he can be guaranteed if he wants to challenge for an England place is a regular slot in the team that’s going to take him.
“I couldn’t see that being a problem with Frank because he knows him and he knows what he’s capable of.
“I think the wide players and midfielders that Tottenham have got will suit him. If there is a possibility of bringing him on loan, Tottenham should look at him seriously.”

However, on the sources Caught offside Suggest that there is less nail to a move than meets the eye. They describe the reality of the transition as ‘much more complicated than it appears.’
Indeed, Tony is said to be happy with his current situation in Saudi Arabia and is not pushing to leave.
Also, while Spurs boss Frank is said to be a big fan of the striker, he is not among the club’s top priorities.
Chelsea are also in contention for Tottenham, but are said to be ‘wary’ of entering into complex negotiations for the Saudi-based player himself.
As a result, it looks like it could be difficult for any club to prize Tony away, and even if he were to look reasonably at a move to reunite with Frank, he would certainly have to give up a huge chunk of his wages – reportedly £490,000 per week – to return to England.
