The scout tells Amorim that only one academy star is ready to jump to the first team



A former Manchester United scout has told the club that there is only one person in their academy who is currently fit to play in the club’s first team.

Former United scout Piotr Sadowski has explained that there is only one academy product at the club who is ready to step up.

He said: “Now, United are wary of bringing in youngsters.

“Whether he has someone to choose from in the backroom.

Amas, 18, has played seven times for United’s senior team, and is currently on loan at Championship club Sheffield Wednesday.

While Wednesday have struggled towards the bottom of the table, Amas has been a shining light.

Recall proposals were made in January, but The Sheffield StarDiscussions about the future of the Left continue after talks began over the weekend.

Rob Staton has since revealed that Amas will not be recalled, with the expectation that he stays on for the rest of the season.

Speaking to the Star, the left-back is clear about what he needs to do during his loan spell.

He said: “It’s about going back as a better player.

“At the moment I haven’t really thought too much about it even though it’s coming. I just want to play in games and a lot of things have happened. We’re waiting for things to straighten out and we’ll sort it out nearer the time. But at the moment I’m just enjoying the game here.”
