“I spoke to (Gabriel) Grina last night and he told me that I would get rid of my duties as a national team coach,” Spalti said.
“I’m sorry. Given the relationship we have, I didn’t intend to give up. Especially when things didn’t go well, I would have preferred to stay and do my job.
“However, this is a dismissal and I have to pay attention to it.
“I have always interpreted this role as service to the country and I want to facilitate the future of the national team. I think it’s right to look for the best.”
Spalti has confirmed that Moldova’s clash will be his last match.
“I always believe my players are strong,” Spaltti said.
“The results under my management are these and I have to take responsibility for it.
“I love this shirt, this work and the players I coached. Tomorrow night I ask them what they asked even if I couldn’t show them to express their best effort.”
However, a press conference when a reporter asked Spalti whether he felt betrayal by someone in the Italian collection and what kind of Italy was going through.
The former Napoli chief refused to answer the question and left the room instead.

Spalletti’s imminent departure just two days after Azzurri reached a humiliating 3-0 loss to Norway in his first World Cup qualifying match.
The first three goals for the Norwegians did business because they won three of the three wins and in the first group of UEFA qualifications.
Israel is in the first group, while Estonia is the third, respectively, Italy and Moldova, respectively, in the fourth and fifth respectively.
The first place automatically seals the competence of next year’s World Cup, while the second reaches a playoff game, as the bottom three parts immediately disappear.
For Italy’s favor, they have only played a preliminary match, while Norway, Israel and Estonia have all played three.
But it is obvious that there was enough belief among Italian decision makers that Spalti was no longer appropriate.

The replacement of Spalletti has replaced the numerous reports of Stefano Pioli as more likely.
Piuli is in charge of Saudi Arabia, but had spent all its professional coaching in Italy before it was moved to the Persian Gulf last September.
However, the Italian output Corriere Della Sera claimed that former Leicester City chief Claudio Ranieri was also a shock candidate to replace Spalti.
But the magazine adds that Rome is sure that Ranieri, who is now a senior advisory role in the club, will remain.
Ranieri came out of retirement last November to remove Rome from the fall area and lead the Italian giants to a dramatic fifth place.
He has since been replaced by former Atalanta coach Jian Pirvanpini.
The 73 -year -old, who led Leicester famous as the unlikely top titles of the Premier League in the 2015/16 season, repeatedly stated that he did not intend to coach again.
But for the first time in his legendary profession, his country may be tempting, if a formal offer is expanded.
