A former Premier League side was backed by away fans during a Championship clash on Wednesday.
Jonny Howson was seen among the traveling fans MiddlesbroughTravel to the face Hall City in the Championship and right into action in a 1-0 win.
Howson, who captains Middlesbrough, was seen by fans at the end of the round and serenaded with “Howson, give us a song”.
More than happy to oblige, the injury-hit midfielder is seen closing in on all the fans around him, before stretching his arms out to his side.
He then performed Middlesbrough hit ‘You Are My Boro’ to the delight of the fans around him.
The 36-year-old midfielder is a hugely popular figure at the Riverside Stadium having joined the club in the summer of 2017.

As Howson hangs up his boots, he expresses his interest in going into management, telling them Local media: “As we sit here now, and things can change, I want to manage. But it’s all about opportunities. It’s how you get there. I want to go straight in I will learn about coaching and management, but football is a funny business.
“I’ve talked to previous managers and I certainly remember one who said he was offered out of the blue and that’s how he got into it. It’s hard to plan your ideal path. I want to do that at some point. But it’s completely different from playing and I have to learn how to do that, to be honest.
“It’s a serious business. But I also know that if you’re offered a certain role, sometimes you have to play it because it might never happen again. It all depends on your opportunities and your interests. There are so many parts in football now. And different ways of learning to get to where you want to be, so there are a few roles that interest me, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.
While management may be in the works, he may be eager to be just a supporter for a while, especially given how much he enjoys life outside.
