Liverpool boss Arne Slott is not concerned that Mohamed Salah has not scored a Premier League goal from open play in his last seven games. It probably should be.
The Egyptian international is enduring his worst spell in front of goal LiverpoolHis longest streak for the club since joining in 2017, with seven consecutive Premier League matches without conceding a goal.
advice Has been largely ineffective this season, with his sub-par numbers just the tip of the iceberg. Overall, his contribution to the team has been minimal.
Collectively, Liverpool have had a poor start to the season despite winning their opening six games in all competitions.
Their first defeat of the campaign came at Crystal Palace and was followed by three successive defeats against Galatasaray, Chelsea and Manchester United.
They returned to winning ways in the Champions League against Frankfurt on Wednesday but Salah started from the bench after a lackluster performance against United three days earlier.

Salah was losing his place in Slott’s starting line-up, and How he reacted to the decision was embarrassing and downright embarrassing for a 33-year-oldreplacing her X-profile picture with a snap of herself and her two children and her Liverpool-themed header holding the Premier League trophy against a plain gray background.
Some may attribute this to abuse from some mindless ‘fans’, who proved just how crazy the football community can be.
And a since-deleted X-post The Daily Mail Reporter Lewis Steele said: ‘Mo Salah at the foot straight down the tunnel. Loads and loads for Liverpool to take away from tonight and he looked in a strop. ‘

Asked about Salah’s worst run in front of goal for the Reds, head coach Slott said it was “the last thing I’m worried about”.
“The most important thing is that he has always scored goals for Liverpool,” Slott told a press conference on Friday.
“The last thing I’m worried about is scoring goals again. He’s done it his whole life and I expect him to do it again in the coming weeks and months.
“Usually in football, players miss chances and he’s human. We’re not used to them missing chances.”
yes He probably is. And the slot isn’t ruling out a contributing factor to Salah’s slow start to the campaign.
“That might be a factor (no Alexander-Arnold) because he’s played with him throughout his Liverpool career (until this season), but he’s been in promising positions to score goals,” Slott said.
“Normally, a lot of changes in the squad from the summer means everyone needs to find new contacts again. That might have something to do with it.”
You’d normally come back for someone of Salah’s quality to return strongly, but this is a run of five goals in his last 23 games, which coincides alarmingly with his contract renewal. We’re not blaming anyone for downing tools… we promise.
At 33, it will be difficult for Salah to return to repeat the heights of 2024/25, when he scored 29 and assisted 18 in the Premier League as Liverpool won the title at a canter.
Despite winning the league so comfortably, this season has been one of transition for the Reds, who we expect to see long-term manager Jurgen Klopp replaced by Slot last summer.
Instead, Liverpool slotted into the foundations laid by Klopp and when it was clear the club had an elite, title-winning manager, they helped him make more than $400 million worth of new signings.
To supply a series of expensive players to succeed, Slott has struggled and Liverpool have been exploited, while Salah has fallen victim to a rebuild he wants no part of.
Salah’s frustrations after falling against Frankfurt clearly got the better of him and a back injury to Iskandar Isak should restore him to the starting XI against Brentford on Saturday, which is troubling as the 33-year-old has deleted his social media account entirely.
But with any criticism of Liverpool comes sympathy with a squad full of players grieving the loss of a friend and teammate.
The passing of Diego Jota will have an indescribable impact on every Reds player, and Salah’s sentiments after an emotional opening night against Bournemouth proved that.
These players (who are human, anyway), are given almost a free hit and are exempt from criticism this season. After being forced to deal with something so devastating you would normally need a heart of stone to carry on and play your game.
Success was never going to happen immediately after Jota’s death, and it’s entirely plausible that the loss of a close friend could have taken a toll on Salah’s plight.
