Real Madrid no longer consider Manchester United as competition for defender | All Football

The future of Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies has definitely moved into saga territory in recent months. After agreeing terms at Real Madrid in March this year, the past few months have been awash with speculation over his future.

According to Marca, Real Madrid consider that Davies is still on the market, with his future undecided. Los Blancos continue to bank on Davies’ desire to play for the club, as Bayern battle to keep hold of one of their best players. One thing they seem sure of is that it is up to themselves and Bayern Munich to fight. Manchester United and Barcelona both inquired about Davies, and were linked as possible destinations, but have given up on the Canadian star, after being turned down by him.

Recent reports have also seen Liverpool linked with a late move for Davies, but that would be a big shock if they swooped in to beat Bayern and Madrid to a deal they’ve been working on for around a year now. Davies was seen partying on holiday with Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham over the weekend, and another factor they will hope to help him is his close friendship with David Alaba.
