Recent reports suggest that Real Madrid could attempt to sign Virgil van Dijk when his contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season. But according to MarkLos Blancos are not interested in the Holland captain as they firmly believe he will sign a new contract with the Premier League leaders.
Van Dijk himself recently confirmed that he is in talks with Liverpool over a new contract and was reportedly presented with an official initial offer which he turned down. However, Liverpool are expected to improve on that and with Van Dijk keen to continue to wear the captain’s armband at Anfield, a deal is likely to happen sometime between now and next summer.
Real, meanwhile, are struggling with injuries in the back line and will certainly enter the market to strengthen him, whether in January or the summer, remains to be seen. They may be resigned to turning Van Dijk away, but they are said to be keen on Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is also out of contract.
