Police are investigating pyrotechnics and objects thrown during Dundee United v Aberdeen at Tannadice

Police are investigating “pyrotechnics used and objects thrown” during Dundee United v Aberdeen on Sunday.

United won Sunday’s Scottish Premiership game at Tannadice.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We are aware of pyrotechnics being used and objects being thrown during the match at Tannadice on Sunday, 29 December, 2024.

“Questions about the matter are ongoing.”

League organizers the SPFL said: “Players, staff and fellow supporters must, of course, have the right to attend games without the risk of being hit by projectiles. The dangers involved are clear.

“Anyone found guilty of such completely irresponsible behavior should face criminal charges, as well as a ban from future SPFL matches.

“We look forward to receiving the match delegate’s report and to see what action Police Scotland takes to identify and charge those responsible.”
