There’s a first time for everything, even for Patrick Mahomes.
Except this time, it’s not a new record he’s breaking or a new barrier he’s breaking.

It’s a not-so-great debut for the star defender.
For the first time since becoming Kansas City’s starter in 2018, Mahomes failed to make the Pro Bowl.
He had made the previous 6 times.
There were three AFC defenders who were selected instead of Makhomes Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and baro atmosphere.
Everyone deserves it
While Mahomes has led the Chiefs to a 15-1 record with a locked-in seed, he hasn’t had the best year in terms of the high expectations we all expect from him.
He finished with 3,928 yards and 26 touchdowns, the fewest passing touchdowns of his career since starting the game.
Good numbers, but in a season where Allen, Jackson and Burrow have played at a historic level, there was no room for Mahomes this year.
As if he needed more motivation going into the postseason, this just adds more fuel to the fire.
Mahomes and the Chiefs are looking to become the first team in NFL history to have back-to-back games.

Winning three Super Bowls in a row is not possible in a league with so much parity.
That’s when you have Mahomes.
After the Pro Bowl roster was announced, fans went to X to warn everyone not to hit the bear.
You guys didn’t learn…. Don’t hit the bear? said one fan
Getting rejected in general is fuel for a contender like Mahomes. Another fan chimed in who probably already has it on the locker room wall to motivate the guys.
Whether or not he was truly unloved due to the three players playing in front of him is hard to argue, but that’s one thing some fans have made up.
There’s still a chance Mahomes could make the Pro Bowl, if Allen, Jackson or Burrow make the Super Bowl or simply decide not to, Mahomes will be the replacement.
However, Mahomes may be busy himself.
The Chiefs look as primed as ever to hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the third year in a row.
If that happens, it will be Mahomes who will once again have the last laugh.
