A day that started in anger ended with another NFC East title for the Eagles, who secured a home playoff game after bouncing back from a loss to Washington in Week 16.

Fueled by the holiday season, their storied rivalry with the Cowboys and their desperation to claim the NFC East and a home playoff game, Phillies fans decided they didn’t want to wait any longer.
They first lashed out at game-day officials for the missed calls, when DeMarvion Overshown appeared to shove DeVonta Smith in the back and pull him down with his facemask.
With both of them going unpunished, Philly fans turned their attention to Sirani, who has taken a lot from the stands this season.
Pickett’s first drive of the game was in jeopardy and faced with fourth-and-short, the head coach picked the ball.

The Eagles’ offense grew sluggish, following their defensive touchdown with back-to-back three-and-outs — but so did the Cowboys as the offensive units failed to get going.
Philadelphia stepped up their efforts in the second quarter and turned the game around Saquon Barkley As they picked up their first downs, they came away with a picket fumble thanks to Barkley.
As has been the case for the Eagles this year, they found a way and scored on their final three drives in the semifinals.
A spectacular Grant Calcaterra catch to Pickett made it 34, which he followed with a 22-yard strike to DeVonta Smith for the Eagles’ first offensive touchdown and a 14-7 lead.
After a Jake Elliott field goal, Pickett and Siriani had the last laugh with Pickett — a Phillies fan as a child — running in on a trademark Eagles quarterback run at the end of the first half.
That gave him a rushing touchdown to go with his TD pass to Smith, and 133 yards through the air in the first half.
It made the home fans happy.
It was more of the same in the second half, with the Eagles able to take Pickett out after his rib injury flared up, but there was no letup.
Barkley rushed for 127 yards a second time, after only 40 yards on a first-and-3 pick from QB Tanner McKee to throw a touchdown pass of his own.
A 41-7 victory over the Cowboys was enough to cheer Eagles fans and clinch their third NFC East title in four years.
