‘My bones were hurting’ – Darts star gives strange explanation after suffering white defeat

Riccardo Petričko has claimed that his body was in bad shape when he lost to Nathan Aspinall.

But the match failed to live up to expectations as Petrecko looked a shadow of himself at the top.

Petrechko even lost 10 straight legs at one point in the match, but he couldn’t stop smiling as things didn’t go his way.

Pikachu drew attention for his on-stage demeanor, interacting with fans and even cheering for Aspinall’s exit, a sign that he was already doomed.

But after a nightmare in Oche that saw him pull out of the tournament, the 30-year-old admitted he was in severe pain and needed rest.

“Today was one of those days, right from the start I thought, ‘Phew, today is going to be tough,'” he said.

“This sounds silly coming from a 30-year-old, but I woke up this morning and my bones hurt.

“As I don’t like flying, we’ve been here in England since the 15th – it’s difficult to stay here for only three weeks, partly because of the hard beds.

“I usually travel a lot, but this is something else. Staying in a hotel all the time is really difficult.

“Nathan Aspinall’s walk is also my girlfriend’s favorite, so it’s very difficult for me to turn it on after a walk.

But I didn’t lose focus or concentration at that moment because you focus on the game immediately after that. The situation immediately goes out of my mind.”

Pietreczko was eventually eliminated from the tournament in the usual fashion, but had a positive year and retained his place on the PDC Tour.

Meanwhile, for Aspinall’s own conqueror, he has now set up a mouth-watering feud with the teenage prodigy and friend. Luke Littler.

The quarter-final clash on New Year’s Day promises to be a barn storm, with favorite Littler but Aspinall a real challenge and threat to the game.

A win for Aspinall could see her match her best runs at Ally Pally, where she has already reached the semi-finals twice in 2019 and 2020.

But ‘The Asp’ believes he hasn’t received the credit he deserves for performing well at this year’s showcase event.

He said in the press conference after the game: You underestimate me, I never get any respect.

I’m not going to go all Joe Cullen here, but I’m always passed over, nobody ever talks about me, and I’m a two-time major champion and a fantastic darts player.

“I’ve been through a lot, come back with a fight and prove people wrong over and over again.

It’s up to me to get on that stage and prove you so wrong to write me off.
