Marmoush’s comments on the move as Gunners make first contact| All Football

Janaury has arrived and with it comes the possibility for Arsenal to penetrate the transfer window.

The Gunners avoided doing business in the first month of the year in 2024 but have previously made big signings such as Leandro Trossard and Jorginho. With Bukayo Saka ruled out due to injury, it could be more tempting than usual to be active.

Mikel Arteta’s side continue to be frequently linked with the goalscorer, while they have to sort out the future of Marquinhos. The club’s priority will probably be to put themselves in the best position to go after Liverpool in the Premier League however.

Mirror Football looks at the latest transfer news and rumors surrounding the Emirates.

Target speaks out

Omar Marmoush, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City, has revealed that he has not thought about a transfer at the moment. The Eintracht Frankfurt star has enjoyed an impressive season so far and the Egypt international has scored 13 goals and provided 7 assists in 15 Bundesliga games.

“What I can promise the fans is that I will give my all for Eintracht in every game”, Marmoush told TZ. “I am not thinking about a transfer.

“I live in the present and enjoy my time in Frankfurt.”

Targeted January deal

Celtic are hoping to reach an agreement with Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney. The Scotland international joined Gunners from the Bhoys in 2019.

Tierney has dropped out of the pecking order at the Emirates and has struggled with injuries entering the final year of his contract. Now, the full-back can be involved in talks with clubs from across Europe with Celtic said to be interested in returning on a free transfer.

Reports claim that parties are working on agreeing a pre-contract. However, Tierney may need to take a pay cut.

Arsenal make the first contact

Arsenal were the first Premier League club to make contact with Dani Olmo’s precarious position, according to Mundo Deportivo. The north London side’s interest has prompted intrigue from Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United with the player’s registration causing problems.

Due to financial issues, Barcelona only registered the Spaniard until December 31st and as it stands, the Catalan giants still have work to do to adhere to La Liga rules and to play Olmo. The midfielder is said to have a clause that allows him to leave for free if Barcelona are unable to sign him.

Olmo’s priority at the moment is to stay at Camp Nou. His agent Andy Bara insists he will not entertain ANY offers from rival clubs.
