Manchester City ‘could be in talks’ to sign Nottingham Forest standout Alit Anderson, Manchester United target, according to reports.
England International Anderson Has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League over the past 18 months as he has shone since joining NOTTM Jungle from boyhood club Newcastle United.
In recent months, Anderson has become a regular for England and currently looks set to start for the Three Lions at next summer’s World Cup.
This is likely to lead to Andersen NOTTM leaving the jungle in 2026 as several clubs are in the market for the number 6 and he stands as one of the most attractive options.
Recent reports have indicated this Man utd They are among the main clubs interested in signing the 22-year-old, but face competition from other Premier League clubs.

Man City have also been mentioned as potential suitors for Anderson, and it has been suggested that they could sign him in 2026 for around £75m.
Football finance expert Stephen Borson has responded to the speculation and indicated that he would not be “surprised” if there was a “release clause” in Forest’s deal.
“It’s a weird story because it seems like it’s everywhere,” Borson said in an interview with Football Insider.
“I wonder if there’s a release clause that people have been quite cautious about, but it all seems incredibly certain that the fee is £75m, there’s that interest and there’s a lot of clubs who are thinking about it.
“I know it was international week and Anderson obviously came out as part of that.
“But given what happened to Gibbs White and what we know, it really wouldn’t be a huge shock if there was a release clause.
“Then if there’s a release clause, I think that changes the whole picture because it removes one of those elements of difficulty in contract negotiations, as long as you’re not paying the release clause by leaking that thing and then saying you’re paying the release clause. I think that’s what’s going on.”

Borson has also suggested that Man City ‘could agree to a discussion’ after doing business with Forest in the back windows.
“If it’s not a release clause and let’s say the fee is £75m, City can afford that as part of the investment they’re making and potentially take players the other way in terms of selling young players,” Borson added.
“We know there was talk in town particularly in the summer in relation to Rico Lewis.
“McKay actually signed for Forest, so there are definitely players who could go the other way on a deal if City wanted to do it that way.
“I guess we’ll just have to wait.
