Luke Littler made darts history and transcended the sport to become the youngest ever world champion on Friday night.
This 17-year-old star Toppled his hero Michael Van Gerwen 7-3 in the final at Alexandra Palace a year after appearing on the scene.
Littler is a 2024 finalist at age 16 Since becoming a family name After emerging from obscurity to become the new face of Darth.
After his thrilling final loss with three wins at the PDC’s premier event, he has now added the ultimate prize to cap off a year of unprecedented fame and fortune.
Much has been made of Littler’s finances at such a tender age, with his winnings now well into the millions after pocketing £500,000 on Ally Pally.
And according to sports finance expert Dr. Rob Wilson, this is just the beginning.
“With the prize and the sponsorship, he will raise around £1 million in the calendar year,” Wilson told LuckyBlock.
“Littler’s earnings should be extrapolated like compound interest. With each passing year, his prize money increases year after year, as does his endorsement activity as his profile grows.
He should easily earn £20m in bonuses over the next 10 years.
“Add to that sponsorship, the inevitable ‘At Home With the Little Ones’ documentary to follow and other income streams and his career earnings could easily top £100m.”
Comparing Littler to his fellow sports stars, Wilson explained why his accomplishments at such a young age make him such an extraordinary role model.
“In sports, nobody has seen these kinds of meteoric profiles and revenue explosions,” he said.
“The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and David Beckham have all surpassed that number, but it happened later in their careers. Littler is unique.”
“You have to look at the music industry for anything close to those early years—Justin Bieber, Britney Spears and One Direction—although their earnings naturally far exceed the average sports star.
He is now one of the most recognizable figures in British sport. Sitting next to the greats like the Olympians Kelly Hodgkinson and tennis superstar But Raducano.
He is as instantly recognizable as some of his football heroes – though not his most popular. Manchester United.
He will soon be sitting next to his ilk Jude Bellingham As a new British sports star.”
It’s safe to say that Littler is already there, and he’s ranked as Britain’s most Googled athlete in 2024, and third overall, ahead of Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
All this is not just good news for the Warrington native, but darts as a whole.
Wilson explained: “The sport also looks good for investment. Barry Hearn (former PDC boss) will be rubbing his hands together as the profile of the sport takes on a whole new dimension.
“Expect a big Sky contract extension – Dart may even save the broadcaster from falling subscriber numbers.
As its popularity increases, darts will experience a renaissance. Developing new audiences, something many sports struggle to pull off, means big sponsors will follow and a major apparel company will try to capitalize on it, just like Nike did with . Tiger Woods in golf
Littler could become the new face of a sportswear giant.
The teenager clearly knows what it all means as he was overcome with emotion after his win over Van Gerwen.
As the last dart landed, the significance of this history-making victory hit the young prodigy and he couldn’t contain the flood of emotions.

Van Gerwen and Littler shared a brief conversation on stage, a testament to their mutual respect. Littler then stepped up to finally win the Sid Waddell Award.
Littler is now ranked second in the world on the PDC Merit with his huge wins in making a comfortable cushion.
He hopes to get the number one “cool hand”. Luke Humphries Next year, with the busy year 2025 set to unfold.
