Gary Lineker believes Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah must have been angry with Arne Slott for his side’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.
The Reds extended their losing streak in all competitions to four at the weekend and were beaten at Anfield by arch-rivals Manchester United on Sunday.
Brian Mbemo gave the Red Devils an early lead Liverpool Cody Gakpo equalized 12 minutes from time – but Harry Maguire stunned the home fans with a header just six minutes later. To give Ruben Amorim’s side all three points.
Man Utd rode their luck with Gakpo hitting the woodwork three times, while the Netherlands international missed a free header to equalize with a minute to go in the match.
The Red Devils held on to win their first back-to-back 0-0 in the Premier League since Amorim took charge at Old Trafford a year ago.

“I think it’s the first time he’s had back-to-back Premier League victories which is a phenomenal statistic.
“Also, we have to say that Manchester United have usually been better against the big clubs. I don’t know at Anfield in general.
Under Amorim, and even before Amorim, they became somewhat better on the counter-attack.
“But for a club like Manchester United, you ultimately can’t because you’re going to play against teams with less blocks and that’s where they’ve struggled.”
Despite the Egypt international’s goal threat, Salah was sent off by Slott in the 85th minute against the Red Devils, and Leiner believes the forward would have been unhappy with the Dutchman.
On Slott’s decision to drop Salah, Lineker added: “It was interesting, almost a statement from Ern Slott, to drop Mo Salah.
“Being 2-1 down when you need a goal. We know that’s the way Mo is, he can pop up.
“I know he missed a chance and he was very calm in the game, but it was an interesting decision.
“It paid off immediately as Frimpong went down, crossed the ball and Gekpo should have scored.
“But I just thought, ‘Hmmm… Mo’s not going to like this’, you know Mo.”

Salah has managed just two goals in eight Premier League appearances this season and Lineker insists things are not falling apart for the Liverpool star at the moment.
Lineker added: “The interesting thing, speaking as a striker in my day, is that when things aren’t going your way… the ball just fell between his feet (for the chance).
“He didn’t know whether to try and open himself up, hit him on the inside of his toe, or hit him on the outside of his toe.
“When things are going for you, when you’re in form, it would drop right down, three or four inches to the left, and it just opened itself up and hooked it in the top corner.
“It’s amazing how those things happen.”
Fellow pundit Micah Richards gave his thoughts on Salah’s replacement: “Yes, but at the end of the day, the manager has to do the right thing for the team,” said the former Manchester City and England defender.
“No player is bigger than the team and MO has not been a team player.
“At this point, he’s not the MO we’ve seen in previous years. Normally, he would pop in with a goal.
“On the off chance that he hits the outside of his foot, he usually turns it into the far corner.
“I have no problem with the manager taking off the MO.”
