Lennon Miller: Motherwell midfielder to miss up to two months

Influential teenage Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller will be sidelined for up to two months after breaking his ankle.

The Scotland Under-21s international has been a key player for Stuart Kettlewell’s side over the past two seasons, and is contracted to the Fir Park club until the summer of 2026.

Miller, 18, was substituted in the second half of Motherwell’s 2-2 draw with Rangers on 29 December, having hurt himself against Oscar Cortes earlier in the game.

And his manager confirmed that the diagnosis was worse than first feared.

“He’s going to last another month,” Kettlewell said. “He has a hairline fracture in his ankle that will keep him out for a long time.

“He’s done it twice now. With Lennon being Lennon he tried to stay. Last season he fractured his patella but tried to finish the game.

“But in getting that yellow card it looks like he’s got a significant injury that will keep him out for anywhere from six to eight weeks.”
