LeBron James and Steph Curry are no strangers to breaking records and passing legends.
However, on Thursday night they both made history, squaring off against arguably the greatest player in basketball history. Michael Jordan.
James tied Jordan for most games with 30 points NBA History with 562, the Los Angeles Lakers won 114-106 over the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Lakers star will surely pass Jordan for most 30-point games in NBA history in the next week or two.
Meanwhile, Curry surpassed Jordan’s 30-point games by a guard for the 35th time in NBA history.
Curry is now 40, Jordan is 39.
this Golden State Warriors The star did it in a classic Curry Supernova performance, scoring 30 points, a perfect 8/8 from the 3-point line and dishing out ten assists.
He is the first player in NBA history to shoot 8/8 from the 3-point line and record 10 assists.
The Warriors defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 105-139.
Again, making history is nothing new for James and Corey, but it’s a special event that they both tied or surpassed Jordan in the record books on the same night.
As the league struggles with low ratings, and looks to find the next face of the league, it’s James and Curry who continue to carry the torch.
James and Curry are still the two biggest stars of this game and after them Kevin Durant.
Curry and Durant are both 36 years old, while James just turned 40.
That’s why the league is so desperate to find its next star.
These three do not have much time.
But until then, everyone should appreciate the milestones they’re passing and achieving, especially when it’s on the same night and includes Michael Jordan.
There may not be many of these moments left.
There will never be another James, and there will never be another.
Enjoy them while you can.
