Banned Aston Villa striker John Duran is at risk of further punishment following allegations from the Football Association.
attacker Controversially received a straight red card for violent conduct in Villa’s 3-0 defeat to Newcastle on Boxing Day.
Duran looked set to seal Fabian Char’s back, although some fans believed it was a tough decision given the forward was off balance.
villaThe appeal was denied and Duran is currently serving a three-session suspension.
However, salt has been rubbed into the wounds after the FA announced that he had been charged for his conduct following his red card.
Duran was seen kicking a water bottle in frustration on the touchline before being dragged down the tunnel by a member of staff.
A statement read: “John Doran has been charged following the Premier League match between Newcastle United and Aston Villa on Thursday 26 December 2024.
The Aston Villa forward is said to have acted inappropriately in the 32nd minute of the game after being sent off.
“John Doran has until Friday, January 3, 2025 to respond.”
Moments after Doran’s red card, Newcastle assistant Jason Tyndall clashed with the Aston Villa bench and the incident is still under investigation.

The striker clashed with a member of the Ipswich staff at full-time.
