‘It’s not too much trouble’ – Chris Dubey offers an honest view of Gervin Price’s tie as he welcomes darts fans.

He has now reached the quarter-finals for the third year in a row at Alli Pali, although it has not been easy for the 34-year-old.

Dutts won the fourth and fifth sets to ensure that his opponent would have to win the sixth set to stay in the match.

Dubey did just that before taking the seventh and final set, saying afterwards that he would “take the dirt if he needs to”.

However, the fans inside the iconic north London venue played their part in his victory, something he is clearly grateful for.

Speaking to TalkSPORT Breakfast, he said: “To be honest, yesterday I think it was the crowd that got me through that match.

They supported us from the middle of the game and when you have them on your side, you don’t want to let them down, you try for the extra two or three percent.

“Like I said, if it wasn’t for them, I probably wouldn’t have made it through.”

Asked how he felt about facing the 2021 champion, he replied: “It doesn’t bother us.

Whatever happens on the day, hopefully I can get my training routine right and double them up and start hitting them earlier than I did yesterday.

But yeah, I’m looking forward to it, I’m looking forward to the challenge and hopefully I can win.

Dubey is set to face Price in the first match tomorrow afternoon before Michael van Gerwen takes on Callan Rydes.

The winners will meet in the semi-finals with Peter Wright v Stephen Bunting and Luke Littler v Nathan Aspinall in the other two matches.
