Anthony Gordon was left bloodied after a bad tackle on Dejan Kulusevski against Tottenham.

The Newcastle winger was sent off after the pair collided in the Spurs penalty area.

Gordon had made his way into the opponent’s box before going on his right foot.

As he did, however, he ran straight into Kolosevsky’s shoulder.

The fight left Gordon writhing on the ground with his face covered in blood.

A lengthy layoff followed the 23-year-old being treated by Newcastle’s medical staff.

Meanwhile, Kulusevski was not fined for this match and the officials did not consider this call to be a foul or a penalty.

England legend Stuart Pearce disagreed with talkSPORT’s live commentary.

He said: “It’s a difficult judgment call – what is an error and what is not?

“If you hit someone with your shoulder, it’s got to be a foul, right?

“Whether it was an accident or not, he took him out in the box. It’s a penalty for me.”
