Girona considering starting €15m deal with Tottenham Hotspur | All Football

Girona’s summer signings have largely failed to make a significant impact so far this season, perhaps the best being Bryan Gil, who signed on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. The 23-year-old has been one of the mainstays of head coach Michel Sanchez, and already, the Catalan club are considering signing him permanently.

According to Diario AS, they can do so for €15m, as this is the pre-agreed optional buyout clause that was included in the loan deal last summer. Girona bosses are considering him, having been impressed with Gil’s contributions so far.

Gil is not counted on at Spurs, so they would welcome Girona to trigger that buyout clause before the end of the season. His contract with the Premier League club expires in 2026, so there could even be a chance for new negotiations to take place next summer, with a view to reducing the price that would have to Catalans paid it.
