Koglo had a disastrous reign at Natal Forest since succeeding Nuno Espirito Santo, as they failed to win any of their eight games in all competitions.
The final straw for the former Celtic and Spurs boss came in Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, with controversial owner Evangelos Marnakis leaving the ground before the final whistle to formalize the head coach’s exit.
Following Coglow’s departure, it quickly became clear that former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini and Fulham head coach Marco Silva were Jungle’s favourites.
Silva has a strong relationship with Mernax, having worked together at Olympiakos, although a report Athletic Claims ‘the $15 million release clause in his contract was prohibited’.

Regarding Mancini, the report claims he was ‘the man who initially supported Coglow after his departure’.
It was noted that Mancini had ‘connected’ with Forest through his track record of preparing sides with a strong defensive, disciplined approach, while he would have been a ‘statement manager capable of guiding them to European success’.
However, Jungle eventually performed a U-turn as ‘his research would also reveal the challenges that could come with employing a 60-year-old Italian’, while ‘it was eventually realized that a man who often puts his arm around his players’ shoulders would be the best fit as they look for a lot of stability’.
Dache has also been assured that he has a long future at Forest, who see it as a ‘long-term appointment’, thus ‘removing any possibility of employing someone on a short-term basis before pursuing Silva next summer’.
