Nothingham Forest: Why is Sean Deta Dyche the right man for Forest?

Forest have backed themselves into a corner after the postecoglou experiment failed.

They want a new man ahead of Thursday’s League visit to Porto – and DIDCHE needs to restore the organization and the Seven of the Party League last season.

Center backs Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic were nervous about the more open style of PosteCoglou, who shared the Golden Grove with one clean sheet this term and one clean sheet against Chelsea.

Elliot Anderson is a man who has continued his form and has the most touches, 807, in the Premier League this season – but the midfielder is an exception.

This means Dyche will need to quickly understand the make-up and psychology of the squad after Forest spent £180m on 13 new players in the summer window.

Almost £120m of talent is gone on Saturday – James Macee, Dilane Bakchinson – with only two signings in Omari Hawa and Oleksandr Zinchenko, starting.

Sources close to the squad feel they have too many players and too many of the same type.

The unity that became so important with Nuno’s departure and Deta must restore that.

“He’s one of the most charismatic guys, he walks into a room and he commands the attention of the room,” said former England goalie Binlon, who played under Dycheley.

“I’ve always responded to people’s managers, people whose doors are always open and you’re told whether you like it or not. That’s Sean’s qualities.

“He’s a leader of men, he gets the recessing room right away. At times, he’s criticized for playing and reacting at the best level not at the top level.

“There are players in that Nottingham Forest Squad – Morgan Gibbs-White, Elliot Anderson, Neco Hudriams, that they could be a manager with.”

Forest restarted the era of European ambitions and brought Postecoglou to win trophies, but had to reset again.

Dyche took Burnley to seventh in 2017-18, the clarets qualifying for Europe for the first time in more than 50 years.

But Eptoston have finished 17th and 15th under him, so can the 54-year-old win the Europa League?

“I think they can still do it, the squad of players is still there,” Robinson said. “It’s the change in mentality. One run loss is hard to get out of but, if anyone can do that, he’s the type of guy to do it.

“He doesn’t want to mark the likes of Sam Allardyce, like a fireman who comes, the shoter problem in the premier league. He has an opportunity where he can be a builder.

“He has a good squad of players. Yes, there is a financial constraint on them but if you look at the squad, it shouldn’t take much time.

“It’s just fine for him. It’s almost one of the jobs he looks forward to.”
