Premier League’s fantasy season is just in the corner and, that managers who share a greater 10k finish louder.
That’s where the FPL’s FPL experts FPL in 2025-26 help.
We collect the best advice from Pras, Holly Slan, FPL Heisenberg and Gianni Buttice to help you beyond.
And we also spoke to Max Diildrefoud, winner of the BBC Sport FPR League last time with an unbelievable final world.
The approach of Max to the game is a little different than the last season – when XG and the bottom of the data leave you cold then you can do his advice.
To: A good fpl manager is playing the game like chess. It’s not about who can choose this week or even next, a good manager watches blocks of fixtures and target players with good ruined medium-term. Doing so avoid knee-jerking in motions, especially for players with just a good ment and then a very poor run. Have a plan and keep it as close as possible.
Holly: The form of team and future livestock is two important metrics to consider when making transitions. Maintain a close eye on both when planning the transition, to select key players before starting their warm streak and steal a march of your opponents.
Holly: It is important to strike the correct balance of premium players, especially at the beginning of time when the form is more unpredictable.
For more revision change, try to choose a premium player in each position in a game game and then make a captain to carry target targets.
Heisenberg: You need to be recognized if you have made an error by bringing a player without you, or by ignoring a player in the hot form that has to enter.
It happened to everyone – the key is to correct these circumstances as possible.
Gianni: It is better to roll the shifts and weeks without one if possible. Stay patient, use your bench if you need and assemble shifts. With a lot of free transitions you can make significant changes to your team’s structure and make steps for the most expensive assets that don’t take hits.
Holly: I try to avoid early transitions wherever can – information is always key and so I don’t make my moves up to a Friday afternoon. The exception to this rule is when there are no European fixtures in Midweek (as before the gameweek two) or where you can be priced from one step.
Max: Last time I changed the way I play. I don’t have much time like before online and consuming the content of the FPL. All I did last season is pure inksctinct – I’m not watching any statistics!
I changed my team 30 minutes before the deadline, go for players I like and trust my gut. Even if I’m a math teacher I stayed from statistics while you can be strong on them and to analyze things.
There’s a new phase of FPL Podcast from BBC Sport every Wednesday of BBC sounds, as Alistair Bruce-Ball, Statman Sutton discusses all things FPL
To: Sometimes, counter-intuitively, the FPL is about choosing reliable players to flair players.
An instance I used to use even Riyad Mahrez is awesome in the eye, a player like Bruno Fernandes always heals to play 90 minutes, get free kicks and fines.
These points add and make these picks more confidential-proof because a free kick or sentence is not as difficult as enemy.
If tied between two players, always select the guy with penalties or specified pieces.
Heisenberg: Watch the perfect matches if possible and extend highlights in all games. Seeing many footballs allows you to find things you can’t find from the stats alone, while allowing you to translate data too.
Max: I looked at many games last season, so I saw players I enjoyed looking at and going for them – using a good old test.
To: FPL is a patience game, but football is a less likely to imagine sport. It’s a recipe for a lot of regret.
You chose to open then as your captain and he missed the punishment. This is an instance of good decision, bad consequences.
Managers need to understand with an element of luck in the game but making good decisions for a long time usually leads to good results. Trust in the process.
Gianni: Some fans do not like expected goals (xg) as a metric, but it is important in FPL.
If an attacker clocked a long xg but did not change that in purposes, they were a bad finisher or more likely, they were about to catch easily.
Gianni: Purposes and assists can always be king but new defense contribution points will change how we build our teams in the FPR going forward, especially if buying budget and midfielder physicians.
The first few weeks can be a curvature of learning so pay attention and prepare to react.
Max: I never spend a lot of money in defense options. This year I go to two £ 4.5m protectors and two £ 4.0m
If they took clean sheets before, and I put them to make the difference in more expensive defense points.
I haven’t spent defense – except for a FPL star like Trent Alexander-Arnold – and if I pick my defense I want to put and forget.
Heisenberg: Everyone wants to beat their opponents in the mini-league and end up in high rank as possible, but you can hit other people’s teams.
Don’t try to be both of them. Don’t try to differ with them.
Just focus on what you control – your own team – to maximize your points. Your total rank and mini-league will take care of themselves.
