Everton have signed Martina Fernandez from Barcelona on loan until the end of the season

Everton have signed Barcelona defender Martina Fernandez on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old becomes the club’s second signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of France striker Kelly Gago.

The Spain Under-23s international was part of the Barcelona squad that won the Women’s Champions League last season.

“I’m very happy to be here and I can’t wait to play,” Fernandez told Everton’s official club channel.

“I know that Everton is a historic club and that the fans are very supportive so I can’t wait to meet them.

“They can expect hard work from me. I will give everything on the pitch.”
