The Gillingham-born Taylor initially joined the villains on loan from Liverpool in February 2024 – after joining the Merseyside club in the previous city of Los Angeles.

He signed a two-year contract with Villa in July 2024.

The Scots take on Ukraine in Jerez on 28 November (11:00 GMT) and China on 2 December (14:00) in their last friendlies of the new year, friends Andreatta believes will provide a strict test.

“I think we will face two teams that have improved in both games,” he said.

“What I expect to face are two difficult games against teams in form, who are flying high in confidence, but so are we.

“I’m happy with where we are, but we know there are things we need to tighten up. Things we can always improve and in this group, that’s what we’re hungry to do.

“We’re going to build on what we’ve built so far.”
