Rubin Colder is confident Cardiff City can beat Wrexham in the EFL Cup after beating the Premier League side on fire in the first round.
The pair meet for the first time in 21 years at Stok Cae Ras on Tuesday night (20:00 BST).
Joel Col will, Rubin’s brother, and Callum Robinson scored as the bluebirds caused a serious fire cup in 2-1 and the higher pot depended on the result of the whole team.
“I think Burnley were very good for us. We played a Premier League team, very good and beat them.
“That gives us a lot of confidence that we can beat teams in higher leagues than us, not just in one league,” the midfielder said.
The Bluebirds currently sit top of league one, level on points with Stevenage and Bradford City.
A last-minute Amario Cozier-Durry stunner for Bolton meant Cardiff lost their third league game of the season on Saturday. However, said the colug, the focus of the team shifted in all their face-to-face with the Welsh to build excitement for the “semi-derby”.
The 23-year-old said: “It’s interesting, they’re a division higher than us now which adds more weight to the game.
“It might be a semi-derby it’s a long way off but there aren’t many Welsh clubs in the English System. Anytime you get a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit a bit that give up a little bit of an opponent and it’s a welsh team we can try and beat.”
The Wales midfielder admitted he followed Wrexham’s story which he described as “Brilliant for Football Football” and for the people of Wrexham.
But he assured fans that the “story” will be no different for his team as they travel to North Wales hoping to reach their EFL Cup rivals and knock out their Welsh rivals in the process.
