Among his clubs as a player, Pfannenstiel is on the books of Nottham Forest, Wimbledon, Hudderder.

Pfannenstiel was the director of Sporting with ST Louis City for five years, creating their youth facilities and training facilities, while they won the Western Conference in 2023.
