Motherwell: How was it to see Scotland’s best team only win one game?

Motherwell Manager Aspou admitted the side’s natural first-half performance was “impressive” and partly blamed his side’s poor decisions for taking anything out of the game.

The Opener was sent off for what was said to be a minor offence, while the Dane was fouled by Scott Arfield’s Winner after an alleged tug on Paul McGinn’s Jersey.

“I was really down on a couple of things,” he said.

“Happy with the first half, I thought we did well and scored two beautiful goals.

“We should have scored another one and I don’t think I can understand how they believed that goal.

“That was one of the worst VAR decisions I’ve seen in my career so far – until it was beaten in the second half when Paul McGinn was hit before the ball hit him (for Scott Arfield’s goal).”

However, that was far from a problem for the FIR PARK side, who took just eight points from eight games.

Arifield’s 79th minute winner meant Motherwell now had four goals in the last 15 minutes of the second half. Only those still alive (six) have upset the league this season.

Even worse for Motherwell, they have lost 12 points from the winning positions in the Premier League this season, more than any other team. If they manage to keep up the points, they will be leading the whole season.

“We show up on Monday and then we look at what we need to do better,” Panguta said.

“You keep going. Now, we all need to clear our heads a little bit, but Monday is a new week, there’s a game we have to win next week and that’s what we’re going to do.”
