From buying tickets during wearing copies of prints, fans used football to show devotion to their club in different ways.
Today a club asks to supporters for another type of backing – by putting players in their homes.
The Partick Thistle is appealing for fans with extraneous rooms to get new signings, and help them together in Glasgow.
The club owned by the fan, playing the Scottish Championship, told the BBC Scotland News File Solporters who responded to the initiative.
Levi Gill, the General Manager of the team, says that the idea becomes more common in football, and the side of the firhill “is to dismiss Scotland” about it.
He told the good BBC program of Scotland program: “In our mind it is a great way for supporters to contribute directly to what we do.
“We think that for players themselves there are dangers that feel lonely when they come to a new place, especially if they do not carry any family and understanding for the place they represent.”
He said the hope is that by giving new arrivals with a place to stay it will benefit them as players and people.
Mr Gill Explained: “It’s helping them succeed not just on the pitch but as people, getting to know them, getting to integrate them into their (new) home.”
The thorns experienced many changes in the level of boardroom in recent years, and earlier this year Kris Doolan selling players with the cost of his work.
A pre-tax loss of £ 131,811 is reported for financial termination on May 2024, an improvement in loss of £ 355,834 last year.
The club initially appealed for support in April, and last week announced it was seeking “Specific short-term home away from home for trialists aged over 18”, helping players seeking to earn a permanent contract at the club over the summer.
Mr. Gill said fans may not be directly available in financial fees for use in their homes, but the club will provide other benefits, such as hospitality of games.
He added: “People who have an interest in a football club have seen with experiences they can at the club, have many rewards than financial returns.”
Club completed the fourth of the championship last season, but lost in Livingston of promotion / playing clubs in the champion championship
In May, they pointed out former Dundee United and Celtic full-back Mark Wilson as their new manager, replaced Doolan in February.
