Sean Dyche: Nottingham Forest in advanced coaching talks with former Everton and Bruneley Manager

Forestham Forest are in advanced talks to appoint Sean Dyche as their manager.

Dyche is the main contender to become the next head coach of the Forest, following the sack of Baning Postecoglou, and the Premier League Club hopes to conclude an agreement on Monday.

Postecoglou was sent off 17 minutes into Chelsea’s Premier League defeat on Saturday.

Forest are 18th in the table after only one win in eight league games, in what has been a season of turmoil.

Dyche has had positive talk in the last 24 hours and sources close to the appointment have told BBC Sport that his chances of recovery are at the end of the weekend.

Roberto Mancini also mentioned discussions with Forest officials, while Fulham manager Marco Silva is admired but under contract.

There is also a big release clause in Silva’s contract that has emerged as a factor, given the forest spent in the sack of postecoglou and nuno Espirito Santo this season.

Whether Silva is willing to leave Fulham mid-season is also understandably an issue.

Sources indicate that Dyche is now the standalone candidate, given the difficulties of coaching Silva, while Mancini’s initial interest is understood to have cooled.

More to follow.
