Harvey Elliott: Midfielder in Liverpool to think of the club’s future

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott says he doesn’t want to “waste years” in his career and this summer weighs the club.

The 22-year-old, part of the England squad for the European under-21 championship of Slovakia this summer, 16 of them as a substitute.

Overall, Elliott was playing 28 games in all competitions, which included six starts as he took five goals and three assists in 822 minutes of action.

In comparison, he made 53 views, including 27 begins, in 2023-24 campaigns when he published four goals and gave 11 assists.

“It was a state I and the team had to talk about my age now where I was 22, 23 next time,” says Elliott when he asked in Liverpool.

“I don’t want to waste years in my career because it’s a short career. You don’t know what happens.

“I have to meditate. I have to see if I’m content to do what I do and how I can do as a player because that’s the most important thing.

“I just want to improve and be the best possible version of myself. If that’s going to be somewhere, then it’s a decision I have to do and I have to see what happens.

“Nothing makes me want to leave. I love the club, I like fans, I also support it. But most importantly it is for my career.”
