The Barcelona president sent a message opening the door for the RFEF to validate Olmo’s registration.
Joan Laporta hasn’t given up yet available Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor back in the side.
The Blaugrana president caused a stir late at night by posted an explosive message on his WhatsApp around 9 PM, only to be deleted soon after. However, the team is Giants managed to capture a screenshot of the message before moving it.
The the message was long and detailedexplaining that the RFEF (Royal Spanish Football Federation). agree with all the arguments presented from FC Barcelona to verify the registrations of two of its players.
The full text of the message reads as follows:
“The RFEF, after reviewing FC Barcelona’s arguments, agrees with that Article 130.2 of the RFEF Regulations does not apply to the cases of Olmo and Pau Víctor. This is because the departure of these players did not result from the club’s decision – as the article states – but due to factors beyond the club’s control and contrary to their intentions. It is an indisputable fact that the club and the players wish to remain part of the FC Barcelona squad for the whole season. This interpretation is consistent with the express purpose of the article, which aims to preserve the stability of player lists.”
Shortly after this was revealed, that news broke LaLiga had confirmed that Barcelona had returned to the necessary 1:1 ratio to sign the players involved. Although this has not been confirmed by the RFEF, it looks likely that things will finally be ended in a positive way for Olmo and Pau Víctor.
For now, Barcelona have the Spanish Super Cup to fight for. They will playing against Athletic Club in Saudi Arabia (Wednesday January 8, 2pm ET), where they will fight to reach the final to face Real Madrid or Mallorca.
