Arsenal are said to be ‘wary’ of the possibility of signing Brighton striker Eoin Ferguson with the troubled Hammers.
Mikel Antonio’s horrific car crash is yet another setback for West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui’s six months in charge at the London Stadium.
There are hammers. 13th in the Premier LeagueWith the goals drying up, Antonio, a constant source of goals, is set to miss the rest of the season.
The January transfer window is not often a market where a whole load of players are available, but one man who could present an interesting market opportunity towards the end of the month is Brighton striker Ferguson.
Ferguson is only 20, but has suffered a dip in form since starting so well as an 18-year-old, along with a late injury on the south coast.
Ferguson’s early form has put top clubs such as Manchester United on alert. In their quest to find a long-term No. 9, though, they opted for Rasmus Hojlund in the summer of 2023.
According to Ben Jacobs, Brighton are still deciding whether to listen to offers for Ferguson in January, with several clubs enquiring.

Also West Ham, fellow London club weapon And Fulham are keen on the Republic of Ireland striker, although a six-month loan option is what interests all three clubs more than any other deal. However, Brighton will insist that an obligation be included in any loan deal if Ferguson leaves this month.
It’s no surprise that Arsenal are interested, it’s seemingly clear that a goalscorer at the top of the pitch is what Mikel Arteta needs to lead the title race this season.
After a summer where the budget was spent on Mikel Merino and Ricardo Calafiori, eyebrows were raised that the Gunners were happy to go into the season without an established forward.
The decision leaves them six points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand after last month’s game against Everton was postponed.
Jacobs also reports that Newcastle’s Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sisko are also Arsenal targets. Rewarding the former away from Newcastle may still be an impossible task, although the Sweden international has already scored 12 league goals this season.
His performance against Manchester United earlier in the week saw him run past Matthijs De Ligt, Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez, earning praise from Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher who described Isak as “the most in-form player in Europe”. Striker”.
