James Milner will wear the old Diogo Jota shirt number for Brighton next season.
The former Liverpool star will pay tribute to his former teammate after last month’s sad death.

Jota died on July 3 at the age of 28 following a car accident in Spain, which also included John’s brother Andre Silva.
Paying tribute to the world of football with the Reds has been flooded from the world of football in honor of winning its Premier League.
The club has confirmed that Jota’s No. 20 shirt will be retired in all men’s, women’s and youth teams.
Meanwhile, Milner does not donate the shirt number for Brighton during the 26/26 campaign.
After changing Carlos Bilba’s shirt, he missed No. 20.
The club has confirmed.
“When I heard Carlos was looking for a change in his number and 20 was available,” Millier explained his decision.
“I wanted to do this as a sign of respect, and obviously I paid tribute to Diogo Jota, which was an amazing player that I was lucky to play with him and a great friend.
“(This will be proud) to wear your number in the Premier League this year.”
Milner joined Liverpool after eight years in Anfield in 2023.

Jota spent five years with Liverpool after the wolf’s signature in 2020.
During this time he scored 65 goals and scored 26 assists in 182 games.
The Portuguese also won four trophies last season, including the title of the Premier League.
