Ruben Amorim’s reasons behind dropping Marcus Rashford have been revealed and some Manchester United fans will not be happy.
Rashford’s past few months at Old Trafford have been nothing but chaotic.
Since the arrival of the new manager Amorimthis 27-year-old has been completely on the sidelines.
He was ruled out for four games entirely, but returned to the Portuguese manager’s line-up in the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle – although he remained on the bench for the entire game.
Amorim’s decision to drop Rashford has now been fully explained.
In December, United lost Everton 4-0 at the Theater of Dreams.
It was a great performance from Rashford who scored two goals.
However, Amorim was reportedly told after that match that Rashford had spent Friday night in Manchester two days earlier, 48 hours before the game.
The United manager was not impressed and does not want his players going out in pubs so close to games.
When Amorim questioned Rashford about Shabana in question, he told the manager that he had received incorrect information.
However, three days later Rashford was left out of the starting line-up for the trip to United Arsenal.
His absence could simply be due to squad rotation, but it raises the question of whether Rashford’s social life was a factor in Amorim’s decision.
