Bournemouth have agreed a stunning deal for Wayne Rooney’s debut before the transfer window opens

With Akinbonny helping to keep a clean sheet on his debut and playing in the first half of the 0-0 draw with Real Salt Lake, Rooney has given him hope for a bright future.

He added: “I just felt he was ready to come and play. Is he going to play every game? Of course not. He’s still a very young guy.

But for him and us to see him play in tough conditions in an away game, like he did when he was 15, he has a very bright future.

I got everything I wanted out of the 45 minutes he played tonight that I wanted to see.

I will continue to try to develop him as a player and I hope to see more of him this season and in the years to come.

And now it seems that the former England champion’s prediction is coming true, with Akinboni ready to taste Premier League football.
