The criticism leveled at Florian Wertz by Gary Neville and other pundits following his slow start in the Premier League is aimed at him.
The Germany international has yet to score or assist in the English top flight since his $100m move from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer and has been criticized for his lackluster displays for Liverpool as the reigning champions fall to eighth in the Premier League, eight points behind league leaders Arsenal.

“Wurtz is a problem,” Neville claimed after Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat by Manchester City on Sunday.
“Let’s just call it like it is. It’s a problem. He’s 100m+, and to be fair, I said a few weeks ago that (Milos) Kerkes looked like a little guy out there. Today I thought Wirtz looked like a little guy. That can’t be the case.”
He added: “We’ve been pointing around him for a few months, around the fact that he’s young, he’s coming to a new country, but he’s 100m+, you’ve got to stand up soon.
“He’s obviously got something, he’s a really good player, he’s technically fantastic, but today he’s been put out there by Mathis Nunes and others.
“He’s been whipped around the pitch, and he’s also delivered on the quality side of things, so his performance was a real concern.”
