Diego Dalot has been blasted for not being good in attack or defense for Manchester United who really, really hate the “high five”.
Dalot is now one of United’s longest-serving players having joined the club in 2018 as a 19-year-old and only Bruno Fernandes has played more minutes at full-back under Ruben Amorim.
Capable of playing on the left or right, Dalot has started seven of United’s 11 Premier League games this season but was dropped for Patrik Durgo for the trip to Tottenham after his less than convincing display against Nottingham Forest.

Dalot is often seen celebrating tackles and defensive work, and congratulating teammates for their contributions, and former United full-back Paul Parker is not a fan of the Portuguese star’s cheerleading.
“Dalotte is making a lot of mistakes, unnecessary mistakes. They’re more interested in high-fiving people when they’re competing than actually doing their job properly,” Parker said Metro Through online casinos.
“So, high fives don’t win you football games. When you’ve done your high five, they could really bounce off your great tackle and go and score a goal. So, high five at halftime or after the game. So, no, you can’t count on Dalot there.
“You’re also not getting enough quality in the final third from him. He doesn’t do that much defensively. He gets closed down a lot, his clearance is poor, very poor, there’s a reason for that.”
Describing his penchant for high-fives and fist bumps, Dalot once said: “American defenders, we don’t score very often, so these are our little goals during 90 minutes.
“It’s a target for us so we’ll celebrate and I think it’s something that comes naturally to us.”

Parker also took aim at midfielder Manuel Ugart, insisting that Amorim “should be put on the bench” instead of using Casemiro’s legs late in games.
“He hasn’t done it right,” Parker said. “I liked him a lot because he was a breath of fresh air when he arrived, someone who wanted to run around and get stuck in, rarely lost possession even under pressure.
“But when they come now, United concede. They usually concede. At best it starts to put pressure on them, and that’s because someone like Casemiro is coming in. So, at the moment, if I’m the manager of Manchester United, there’s no need to make systematic changes.
“The full back can change, but the middle stays the same. Get continuity in that midfield. Even when things are going well and you’re 1-0 up and the team looks comfortable, they can be more comfortable.
“Especially if you keep it the same instead of making three or four changes. Unnecessary changes, just to give people minutes. Keep Casemiro on, keep Ugart on the bench.”
