Liverpool have reportedly been ‘immediately rejected’ by Real Madrid, who are ‘willing to pay’ to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in January.
Alexander-Arnold has entered the final year of his contract and He is among the 20 best footballers who can become a free agent in 2025.
Liverpool Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are in the same boat, but it is understood that Alexander-Arnold is the most likely to leave amid interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are in the market for a new right-back as they need a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal, 32, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.
It has been widely reported that Alexander-Arnold is Real Madrid’s favorite target.. While it is believed they will move to sign him on a free transfer in the summer, Athletic David Ornstein has revealed he is ‘willing to pay’ for him in January.

Orenstein says Real Madrid ‘have taken the approach of signing Alexander-Arnold’But Liverpool rejected him ‘immediately’. He explained:
‘Liverpool have rejected Real Madrid’s approach to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in January.
The England international has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu when his contract expires next summer and the Spanish club have now made their interest official.
‘Real Madrid contacted the Anfield hierarchy to find out if Liverpool were willing to sell Alexander-Arnold during the winter window. However, no figures have been discussed with Liverpool to make it clear they are not interested in negotiating a January exit for the 26-year-old.’

Liverpool have denied reports in Spain that their vice-captain has already informed them of his desire to join Real Madrid. He still hopes to commit his future to his boyhood club with extension talks ongoing.
‘From January 1, Alexander-Arnold can officially talk to foreign clubs about a possible move on a free transfer at the end of the season. “The feeling around Liverpool is that both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk will eventually sign and the suggestion I’m getting is that it will be a two-year deal,” Orenstein said.
That’s what Arne Slott wants, Richard Hughes the sporting director and both players want him to stay. What they need to get right is the financial aspect.
