The onus to solve Villa’s problem may fall to Austin Macphee, one of the game’s most revered set-piece coaches.

He joined Villa in 2021 under Dean Smith’s tenure as manager, and combined his role with a position on Portugal Manager Roberto Martinez’s coaching staff.
