Clarence Seedorf urged Mikel Arteta to “keep up the noise” in the Arsenal dressing room, before directly praising his role this season.
weapon Currently on a hot streak, three points clear at the top of the Premier League and one of only three sides to have won all three Champions League games. Last season, they finished runners-up in the league and were knocked out of the European competition in the semi-finals.
They are clearly making strides in the right direction, and it feels like this year could be their year to win at least one of the aforementioned contests.
But speaking ahead of the 4-0 Champions League thrashing of Atletico Madrid, Seedorf told Arteta to put the noise to rest.
“We want them to win now,” he said.
“We (can say that). They’re doing a lot of analysis. Every year there’s a lot of that chat around Arsenal. For the team, the challenge for them is to keep that noise out of the changing room.”
After the match, which includes signings in the summer Gyokers Scoring his first brace for the club—his fourth and fifth goals in total—Seedorf praised him for getting team-mates with him despite his lack of impact following his 54-goal return to Sporting CP last term.
“I think you’ve created it, because the strikers, everyone expects them to score.
“You didn’t score that much in that period, but all the other things you’re doing for the team and improving the players has created this reaction from them.
“The respect you’ve created I think is definitely on you. Well done.”

Seedorf also felt that fellow goalscorer Gabriel Martinelli was a handful for Atletico’s defenders.
He said: “I think they really fired up the first half.
“Atletico pushed hard, came out again, but it was just hitting against the wall at a certain point. They didn’t know what to do now, and Arsenal showed that energy.
“There was a fire at Martinelli’s today.”
The aforementioned players continuing to perform throughout the season should serve Arsenal well in their pursuit of silverware in both England and Europe.
