Speaking after the match, former Premier League striker Troy Deeney hit out at Liverpool’s attackers, describing Mohamed Salah, Aleksandar Isak and Florian Wirtz as an “ego” problem.

“They just need to relax a little bit and start thinking about the team against themselves. I think they’re all goals as opposed to team-first,” Danny said on Day 2’s match.

“It’s egos, they’ve all been the main man at their old teams and Salah is the main man at Liverpool, but now you’ve got Isak, Wertz, etc. Now it’s all about the balance of egos.”

Meanwhile, Rooney has highlighted that Slott is doing something we “haven’t seen before”, while Liverpool are “desperately missing Trent Alexander-Arnold”.

“It’s very difficult and I think they’ve got a bit complacent, there’s a lot on Salah, Van Dijk and Trent, and I think they’re missing Trent a lot,” Rooney said on The Wayne Rooney Show.

“Liverpool is a huge club in the world and for players like Kirkes going from Bournemouth, Isak going from Newcastle and the players they brought in are struggling.

“The best player for them is Aktike. I think he’s really struggling and it’s a big challenge for the manager.

“I think with Arne Slott you forget that he’s won the Premier League but he’s still young, he’s only 46, he’s still quite young and I think it’s the first time in his career that he’s lost four games in a row.

“You see today (vs Man United) him arguing with the officials on the touchline and I’ve never seen that before and you’re starting to see things unfold that show there’s pressure.”
