Ferdinand claims a Red Devils star will be ‘unplayable’ as new signing to ‘become the best in the world’

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has backed one Red Devils star to be “irreversible”, while another player “could become the best in the world”.

“I just think he’s an amazing footballer and once he’s in full flow he’s almost unbearable at times. He’s got that wonder about him, which I love.”

Ferdinand also praised Mebemo and Sini Lemons, praising the goalkeeper for his “reliable” display.

“I have to talk about Mbemo’s performance… he’s getting chances but he hasn’t been clinical,” Ferdinand added.

“This guy keeps getting into good positions. Eventually you get some luck and he got it today.

“He just causes problems and makes defenders bewildered. Defenders never feel comfortable against him.”

On Lemmens, Ferdinand continued: “He took us off our feet with a great save.

“He was dependable. His hands were really safe. He’s only played two games so I don’t want to get carried away but he was reliable, sure and assertive.

“In the long run it can continue because it builds confidence in the backline.”

Former Club Brugge coach Heck Milton has also praised Lemmens, stating that he “could be the best in the world”.

I was not surprised when I saw that Manchester United had called. And to record my first clean sheet, I was really happy for that,” Milton told the Manchester Evening News.

“Sunny Reid is a potential No. 1 for the Devils – the Belgian national team.

“He got the chance, he took it, and we’re all really proud of him, but we knew it would be. I believe he has all the ability to be the best in the world, so I wish him the best. I’m sure he’ll have a great career in England, and Manchester United should return to the big club they were before.

“For sure, he will have a positive influence on him, and hopefully he will soon be the first-choice goalkeeper for Belgium. I am sure he has the ability, the skills and the personality.”
