The football match was abandoned after a brawl involving fans and players

A non-league football match abandoned after a fight between fans and players in the second half.

A goal was fought at the end of the Northern Premier League Game between Avro, based in Oldam, and Athletic kids in the afternoon.

The game was stopped in the 84th minute with Avro leading 6-0 against the nine-man boys. In the video footage, a player who is close to a goal can be seen being hit by a fan.

Avro said it was “appalled” by the incident. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said it was investigating but had made no arrests.

The flow of the Brawl started with ARGUMENTS on the stands and footage, expected by the entire media, showed the players of the children who left the game while they were involved.

A player is seen jumping over hoardings to get into the stands.

A GMP spokesman said officers were “currently investigating the circumstances”.

The incident was also reported to the Football Association.

In a statement, Avro said: “We as a club are appalled by the behavior of some fans, players and officials towards the children of Kinggrove Athletic.”

It added: “The incident followed the resignation of one of the children’s management team outside the field of play.”

Staffordshire staff also said in a statement:

“No further statement will be made until the investigation is complete.”
