Sentry Golf Betting Preview 2025

In a normal world, the PGA Tour’s 2025 season would begin with its biggest star β€” Scotty Scheffler β€” hitting balls on the stunning fairways of Kapalua, Hawaii.

But Scheffler doesn’t live in anything remotely like the real world.

Last year he won nine times and put up numbers that had men comparing his dominance of the rest of the world to that of Tiger Woods.

No one is suggesting he’s in the Tigers’ league (for one thing, he’ll have to maintain his standards for another 15 years), but he’s in that ballpark, at least in the short term.

Scheffler also has Tiger’s habit of doing strange things. In May, he was arrested en route to the first round of the PGA Championship and will not play this week because he cut his hand preparing Christmas dinner.

Instead, the favorite is Xander Schaufele, and he is not far behind Schaeffler in terms of quality. A two-time winner in 2024, he won the event in 2019 with a final-round 62 and could very well repeat that effort this week.

He’s a bit pricey, though, so we’ll look elsewhere for value.

Who are the best bets? Let’s find out.

β›³ Sentry Golf Betting Tips 2025

Find my predictions and top tips for The Sentry 2025 below.

Ludwig Aberg on each side

The Swede had a disappointing 2024, failing to add to his win tally and suffering an injury late in the year.

But he carded a 62 and 64 at Sea Island in November and then finished sixth in the World Champion Challenge.

His debut at the event didn’t look great on paper (47th), but he shot a brilliant 63 in the final round, and in theory his long, aggressive drive is perfect for the course.

Aberg was a superstar at the 2023 Ryder Cup and will be desperate to play for Europe again this September.

Expect a good year from him and he could get off to a fast start in Hawaii.

bet365 offer 16/1 each way and he is a pick of the favourites.

Ecrut sleeves on each side

The young American won twice in 2024 and yet the compilers are not too keen on his chances this week.

Granted, he’s a debutant, but his two wins will give him hope that he can go well at a hefty price.

The first victory at PGA National was at the Honda Classic, where last year’s winner of the event (Chris Kirk) won.

The second success came in November at an open track in Mexico that required an attack – just like this week.

He is available at the juicy top price of 70/1 with Betfred.

Nico Echevarria Top 20

The Colombian picked up his first PGA Tour win in 2023 in Puerto Rico β€” another expansive course that required aggressive golf.

He then made it two wins in Japan late last year, followed by sixth in Mexico and second in Sea Island.

He is full of confidence and can improve on his first appearance at the event when he finishes 25th.

Take the 9/4 that Sky Bet offer that he will reach his fifth top 20 in 7 starts.
