Wolves striker Matheus Cunha has been banned for two matches and fined £80,000 by the FA after an altercation with a Ipswich staff member earlier this month.
The Brazilian shoved his hand in the face of a security official as tempers flared after the final whistle of Wolves’ dramatic defeat to the Tractor Boys.
Cunha, who has starred for the Midlands club despite their struggles, had been allowed to feature in matches against Leicester, Manchester United oath Tottenham as his case was reviewed.
But the 25-year-old will now miss Wolves’ Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on Monday as well as theirs FA Cup third round trip to Bristol City.
New Wolves manager Vitor Pereira may be counting his blessings over the ruling, given that the forward was likely to miss some time anyway after coming off at half-time in the weekend draw with Spurs.
Speaking before their clash in north London Pereira, who has enjoyed an unbeaten start since replacing Gary O’Neil at Molineux, indicated that the club were expecting Cunha to receive a suspension.

“We are trying to prepare other players because when it happens we must be ready with other players,” the Wolves boss said.
‘They are working, they are doing good work, they are trying to understand the idea, the intention of what we want, with and without the ball, waiting for an opportunity.’
Wolves are bracing themselves for a nervous January, with interest growing in their star man who has scored 10 goals and provided four assists for the side sitting 17h in the table.
The likes of Manchester United and Arsenal could test the club’s resolve when the window opens on Wednesday.
