The slogan of the hoisting scarf and the anthem slogans had a limit to the support of the supporters in football. Today, fans are taking it a step further, and are pushing their clubs to act on environmental stability through real activity.
From industrial Rohr to West London, supporters of football are proving that their passion is beyond the roof and in climate action.
Borosia Dartmund stands at this place. In 2013, the club’s fan base and the Official Foundation launched Strom 09 in partnership with Germany’s Green Electricity Provider Little, a environmental immigrant allowed fans to provide electricity to homes with renewable energy while reducing the club’s surface carbon emissions.

Brent Ford’s 2025 fan stability survey also resonated: Supporters ranked 8.4 out of 10, 80 % are seeking to learn how to reduce the club’s environmental impressions and to join 74 % sustainable campaigns. The survey raised awareness about the Rail Travel Initiative and recycling schemes, but it was also flagged that fans were driven by campaigns such as stereotyze.
Beyond Brent Ford and Dartmond, the wider trend has revealed a changing identity for supporters. Fan groups are forming environmental supporters, demanding action using shareholders in Germany or using formal channels such as lower levels in England.
Environmental stake is high. And the salary is measured. Brent Ford’s fan base activation and Borosia Dartmund’s community -based scheme cites an example of a model where supporters directly lead to solid reduction, operational change and wider awareness.
This is not PR for the show. This is the activity with measurements. Fans are not just spectators. They are stakeholders. Whether by changing domestic energy into renewable sources in Dartmund or encouraging the choice of green lifestyle through Brent Ford’s stability, supporters are restoring what you mean to love your club.

Football fans have always created identity and lore. Now they are forming environmental policy. In Germany, they reduce emissions. In England, they mobilize climate campaigns. Everywhere, they demand this football, just as the game of the world plays its role in the future of the planet.
As pro -activity is increasing, clubs will be able to either rapidly lead or lead. And clearly, a new definition of fandom is emerging. One in which to celebrate your team also means supporting the planet.
