Arsenal defender Timber: Martinelli ready to step up

Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber believes Gabriel Martinelli can step up and cover the absence of Bukayo Saka.

After hamstring surgery, Saka is facing a recovery period until March.

Timber tells the Daily Star: “It is not the first big challenge this season that we have faced.

“Everyone knows how important Bucayo is to us and what he has done Arsenal For the last couple of years.

“Obviously, it’s a little different to Bucayo.

“But Gabi has shown several times that he can play both sides. He is a big threat for any defender – and I think he will show it too.”
